A good weekend

Yes, I admit, I am an English nerd, and I wave my geek banner with pride! I collect author dolls and figures. I can't help it; I was an English major, teacher, and now librarian. I love it! This weekend I went with a friend to see a play at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Oh, it was good! Now, the festival isn't just a once-a-year thing. No, it's a beautiful building that houses plays throughout the year. It sits on acres of land with ponds, walking lanes, and gardens all around. It's quite a sight to see, and I love it. The best part is the gift shop. That is where I bought this figurine. Last time, I bought a Virginia Woolf doll. I want to get a bust of Shakespeare one day when I have the room for it. It was a perfect day. Great time with my friend I haven't seen since my wedding in October, good play, and great food after at Mellow Mushroom.

Oh, I've always wanted a Jane figurine but never knew where to find one. The festival sounds like a lovely way to spend the weekend, too. I just read Othello over the weekend, actually. My sister is a ballerina and one of the pieces in her next show is Jose Limone's The Moor's Pavane which is of course based on the play so I thought I'd read it before the performance. I was so enthralled! It might be my favorite of Shakespeare's plays so far, though I've only read a few.

Sorry, I'm rambling. I'm so glad you like the new layout at SHE! Jenmarie did such a wonderful job with it. (:
