Elizabeth I Coronation

So, today in 1559, Queen Elizabeth I was crowned queen of England and regent of Ireland. She is arguably the greatest monarch of England and quite possibly Europe. She's my favorite, that's for sure. Why do I love her so much? Simple: Shakespeare. Playwrights experienced new acceptance and freedom under her reign, which allowed the arts to flourish. Ah, Shakespeare.
